Our Insurance Agents

Roger Bang, CLU
Coming from a background in banking and insurance, Roger has been with the 1st Insurance Agency since 1973 and is currently the President of the agency, handling its primary administrative duties. Roger's expertise is in the area of business insurance and personal financial planning. Roger has very active in City government and has been actively involved with a number of projects and organizations in our north Iowa area.

Casey Callanan
Casey joined 1st Insurance in 2003 and is a fully licensed agent. Casey’s insurance sales include personal and commercial insurance as well as employee benefits. Casey is a graduate of Iowa State University and a native of northern Iowa. He continues to be involved in many community efforts.

Marilyn Fites
Marilyn specializes in home, auto, life and health as a licensed agent, her focus is on protecting your assets.  Marilyn’s background working with large printing corporations has given her more than 25 years of business experience.  Since moving back to the area she has become involved with several community organizations.

Kendall C. Lundberg
Kendall specializes in group benefits, with an emphasis on health and life. With a background as a Certified Preplanning Consultant and life insurance agent, she achieved national recognition for consulting and assisting residents of North Iowa in a caring and effective manner. Lundberg received her AA degree from North Iowa Area Community College and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in secondary education, majoring in speech with a theatre emphasis. She is a published co-author of Straight Talk – Getting Off The Curb filled with anecdotes illustrating accountability and self management. Along with volunteering on numerous community non-profit boards and organizations, she has more than 30 years of business experience.

John Moran, Registered Representative
After leaving an insurance agency in Cedar Rapids, John joined 1st Insurance in 1989. John's primary emphasis within our agency is business insurance and group health benefits. John is also a Registered Representative, selling variable insurance products and mutual funds. Because of his professional commitment, he has developed a network of loyal clients throughout the Midwest.

Tel Pappajohn
Having been involved with 1st Insurance since its inception, Tel is the senior member of the agency's professional staff. Tel specializes in the sale of business and commercial insurance in our agency, and his area of expertise is in Professional Liability and Director's and Officer's Liability. Tel has a long history in the community of involvement with many organizations.

Dick Price, CPCU
Prior to 1988 when Dick joined the 1st Insurance group, he owned his own agency in Mason City. His background comes from "corporate America", having worked for the Westinghouse and IBM corporations. Dick's primary area of insurance sales is business insurance where he specializes in special coverage programs for non-profit organizations.
